Representative Work Product · Employee self-service training structure

Training Deck Outline

A public portfolio sample demonstrating how I would structure employee- and manager-facing People Systems enablement.

Portfolio sample—not tenant-ready instructions. This artifact uses fictitious scenarios and placeholders. Workday navigation, labels, security, policy, eligibility, dates and support routes must be verified in the client’s actual tenant before operational use.

Training Deck Outline: Workday Self-Service for Employees

Format: 8–10 slide presentation (live session or recorded)
Audience: All employees, particularly new hires and employees unfamiliar with Workday
Duration: Approx. 20–30 minutes (live); 15–20 minutes (recorded)
Sample / Representative Work Product

How to use this outline: Build each slide from confirmed, validated content. All navigation and system behavior must be verified in your production environment by a Workday administrator before recording or presenting. AI tools may assist with drafting slide copy — all content must be reviewed for accuracy before use.

Slide 1: Title Slide

Title: Getting Started with Workday Self-Service
Subtitle: A Practical Guide for [Organization Name] Employees
Presenter / People Systems team name
Date / Version

Speaker note: Welcome participants. Clarify that this session covers the most common self-service tasks employees use — it is not a comprehensive Workday overview. Encourage questions throughout.

Slide 2: What You'll Learn Today

Objective: Set clear expectations for the session.

Bullets:

Speaker note: This session assumes no prior Workday experience. If you have used Workday before, you may already know some of this — feel free to use the time to ask questions.

Slide 3: Logging In to Workday

Objective: Ensure all employees know how to access Workday.

Content:

Speaker note: If you can't log in, contact IT first — most login issues are related to your network credentials, not Workday itself.

Slide 4: Your Workday Home Screen

Objective: Orient employees to the Workday interface.

Content:

Speaker note: Your home screen may look slightly different than what's shown here — your organization may have customized the layout. The core areas we'll cover today are accessible from any standard employee home screen.

Slide 5: Your Profile — Viewing & Updating Personal Information

Objective: Teach employees to access and update their personal information.

Content:

Key tip: If you move to a different state, also contact Payroll — your tax withholding may need to be updated separately.

Slide 6: Finding Your Pay Information

Objective: Help employees locate pay statements and pay information.

Content:

Speaker note: For questions about the amounts on your pay statement — deductions, taxes, hours — contact Payroll directly. People Systems can help you find your pay statement in the system, but cannot answer payroll calculation questions.

Slide 7: Requesting Time Off

Objective: Walk employees through the time-off request process.

Content:

Key tip: Submit time-off requests as early as possible. Check with your manager about your team's scheduling preferences before requesting.

Speaker note: The types of time off available to you depend on your employment type and tenure. If you don't see the right time-off type, contact People Systems.

Slide 8: Benefits — Enrollment & Information

Objective: Help employees know when and how to access benefits in Workday.

Content:

Speaker note: Workday shows you what you're enrolled in. For questions about what your plan covers, you'll need to contact your benefits provider or the Benefits team directly.

Slide 10: Questions & Wrap-Up

Objective: Invite questions; close with key takeaways.

Key takeaways (3 bullets):

Thank you + contact information for People Systems

Speaker note: We'll host office hours on [date/time] for any follow-up questions. The guides and FAQ are available on [intranet link]. We appreciate your feedback — there is a 3-question survey linked in the session chat.

Content note: All slide content and screenshots must be validated in your organization's production Workday environment before delivery. Navigation labels, worklet names, and available tasks are configuration-specific and may differ from this outline. AI tools were used to accelerate the structure and copy drafts for this outline; a Workday administrator and HR reviewer must confirm accuracy before publication.
